Positive Change Begins with a Thought

Have you ever taken the time to think about your thoughts?  What type of thoughts are popping up in your head?  Are they good thoughts, or are they negative thoughts?  You can learn a lot about yourself just by paying attention to your thoughts.

Philippians 4:8 says Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things).  If we spend our day thinking only good thoughts and capturing the bad, would that improve our lives?  I would definitely say so.  The old saying goes you are what you eat.  I would dare to say that you are what you think.  How does your attitude affect the outcome of certain situations?  A positive attitude can usually change the atmosphere in a good way.  Of course, a negative attitude has the opposite effect.

Think on good things.  Find a positive side to every situation.  Try looking on the bright side of things.  It could always be worse.  It is amazing to me when I allow negative thoughts to creep into my mind.  The Lord is quick to show me somebody with a situation that is probably worse than mine.  Bad for me may be easy for you and vise versa.  The positive things is that you can use your negative, as well as positive life experiences to help someone else to get through a tough time.

A negative thought life can leave you with a hard and dim future.  That is not a good place to be.  The question is...is the glass half empty or is it half full.  If you chose the half full answer, then you are thinking positive and being optimistic .  If you were being pessimistic and chose half empty, then you were looking at the negative side.

You can not rise higher than your thought life can take you.  Do not limit yourself by always finding the negatives in a situation.  You may think that you are just being cautious.  There is so much more to the picture than that. Turn things around by looking for a better perspective.  Everybody has a perspective on a situation.  It may not always be good, but it is the way we see things through our personal lenses.  Turn your situation around by thinking positive thoughts.  Pretty soon, those positive thoughts will turn into positive words.  Next thing you know you will begin to see your way out of a bad situation.  Things start to look better.  Positive thinking equals positive results.
